The things I think are in horror books/movies:
* Lightning
* Assistances
* Rain
* Death
* Something humans shouldn't be able to do
* Elements of surprise
* Creatures not seen in everyday life
* A full moon
* Lots of things happening at night
( I've seen maybe 3 horror movies ever so there are more than likely other things too.)
